I can't tell you anything about what's going on there. That's just how it is. I'm very tired. I didn't really do any work today but it was hectic running all over the place to do orientations, setting up stuff, etc. They have their own internal intranet and software systems just like a lot of big companies and it takes a little getting used to. Anyway, I finally got to meet the Google Doodler himself in person today and he's really nice. I feel honored to get to work with him the whole summer. So... yeah... i'm pretty tired. I had a long day... even though I didn't really DO that much. I am just tired. I'm not used to having a real job. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go shower and collapse on my bed Permalink | Comments (0) | Post a comment I'm Working at Google this Summer!May 28, 2006 1:05 pm by BogusRedOn Tuesday I start my new internship at Google. I’m really excited about it. I can’t wait to meet the other interns and learn what life is like as a Googler. I am really proud to be working at Google. My manager is the guy who does all of the Google holiday logos! Can you believe that?! That is AWESOME. I’m looking forward to working with him and learning the secrets of the Google doodles. Every time I think about the fact that I’ll be working at Google I pinch myself just to make sure I’m not dreaming. Another Google intern sent me a link to this cool site called Gintern.net that displays all the Google intern blogs. I thought that was pretty awesome so I’m trying to learn RSS so I can add my blog to the site. Be sure to check it out and read about other Google Interns’ experiences. Anyway, the art section of my blog site is FINALLY done. I was thinking of just scrapping the whole thing but then I found out about this Gintern thing and felt inspired to finish it. I am the one and only Graphic Design Intern at Google, which I am pretty proud of. I hear there are over 400 interns total at Google. Because I’m the only Graphic Design intern I was a little afraid of being left out of the whole intern experience so I decided to email a few of the other interns to get to know them. I met this one dude named Flavio who’s interning in Engineering. He’s a really nice guy and helped me understand some cool database stuff. We talked for hours on Google talk. We start on the same day and we’ll get to meet in person on Tuesday. I’ll also be meeting up with some other interns on Tuesday to have a little jam session at the piano on the Google campus. We are going to ROCK the Googleplex. There are a lot of things I’m looking forward to learning this summer. I’m told I’ll be making a lot of icons and such. I don’t see myself as a really great icon designer so I’ll get a lot of practice and learn all the tricks. I’m hoping to take what I learn at Google and apply it to PaperDemon.com to make it easier for members to post their artwork and such. I’m also looking forward to trying out the hardware. I hear they use Tablet PCs for drawing and I’ve never drawn on one before. If I like it, I may buy one for myself. It will be nice to have a little computer to use as my sketchbook. I will be able to do watercolor without carrying around a paint set! I like painting digitally better than painting traditionally anyway. Another thing I think I will buy is that Reason software for making digital music. The music programs I have now are so crappy. That is part of the reason why I haven’t posted any new music in the music section of my site for a long time. I’m waiting to get some better software with a better piano sound font. The ones I have just aren’t good enough. Google gives free meals every day for employees and I’m hoping I don’t gain any weight. They have this thing known as the Google Fifteen referring to the fifteen pounds that most people gain after a few months of working at Google. My current weight is 145.5 lbs. One of the first things I’ll do after starting at Google is I will enroll in a fitness class at their gym. I need the exercise. I plan on making frequent entries in my blog documenting my experience as a Googler. Unfortunately, I will not be able to talk about the projects I work on because it’s all secret stuff, but I can talk about my general experiences. So stay tuned for more entries from BogusRed! Commenting closed temporarily on my blog
Due to excessive spamming, I have disabled all commenting on my blog entries. I have received over 100 spams for stupid crap that has nothing to do with this site. It all looks strikingly similar to spam you'd get in your junk folder of your email. I'm sorry Koreans, I am not interested in enlarging my penis. I do not even have one to enlarge. When I get the chance I will change the commenting system to prevent spam. I heard that if I just do simple little things like change the forms to not have the fields labelled "comments" and other things, i can avoid getting spam. This site is still under construction. Will it ever be finished? Sorry BogusRed fans for this site not getting as much attention as it should. I have been so busy with my other websites. This blog will probably never become a sketchblog at this rate. Actually, now that there's a journal feature over at PaperDemon.com, that might become my sketch blog. I may move over my entries to that site. I will still have my music on this site but I don't think my artwork will make it over here. I've already got it all on PD. Why post it here too? Perhaps I'll come up with another use for this site. A sort of blog for the status on all of my sites? i dunno. we'll see. Permalink | Comments (0) | Post a comment |
